Key takeaways

  • We're introducing bulk downloads in CSV format
  • Users can select format before downloading the data
  • CSV format is a convenient, human-reabable format compatible with various programs

We’re introducing another convenient feature: the CSV (Comma Separated Values) format for bulk downloads. This additional data format will provide more flexibility when downloading data in bulk using our self-service platform.

Until now, users downloading data in bulk could only get it in JSONL (JSON Lines) format. Now, you can select the data format before downloading the data.

It’s important to know that CSV and JSONL file structures differ slightly. More information about these differences is provided before downloading. To get a better understanding of these differences, we also recommend downloading data samples.

JSONL vs. CSV

JSONL and CSV are both used in data analytics. From a technical perspective, there are multiple key differences between these files. From the business perspective, companies often opt for the CSV format because of its simple structure, good readability, and compatibility.

It is especially popular when working with smaller datasets. CSV files are human-readable spreadsheets that your stakeholders can even use without deep technical knowledge.

CSV files will be a convenient option for companies using our self-service platform. It will enable them to build custom datasets or download subsets of data based on specific criteria, such as lists of businesses located in a specific area, in human-readable format.
