Smarter Webhooks: Get Notified About Specific Data Field Changes

webhook signals employee profile change

Key takeaways

  • Field-level webhooks separate real buying signals from profile-update noise
  • See exactly which fields changed and subscribe only to the updates that matter
  • Webhooks now cover Base, Clean, and Multi-Source employee data
  • The result: cleaner workflows, lower costs, and sharper triggers for sales, HR, investors, and AI teams

Not every profile update is worth acting on. A prospect updating their photo is noise. A director becoming a VP is a signal.

Our new webhooks feature helps you get the right signals at the right time.

We are now offering field-level change tracking, which provides notifications about exactly what has changed in a tracked employee profile.

Set up webhooks to be notified of employee data changes that actually matter to you, and stop wasting resources on the ones that don't.

new webhooks show right signals

What's new: two improvements to webhook subscription

The update introduces two capabilities that work independently or together.

  1. Configure changed fields parameter: When a webhook fires for a changed profile, the response payload now includes a changed_fields parameter that lists the exact fields that were updated. For example, if an employee changed their job title and location, both fields will be listed in the notification.
  2. Subscribe by field: When creating a subscription, users can now add an additional filter to specify which fields they want to track. For example, a user can subscribe to a list of profile IDs but only receive webhooks when the skills or job_title fields change. All other changes for those profiles will be ignored. This works as a layer on top of the existing subscription input methods (IDs, ES DSL), so it integrates with your existing workflows.

The update also expands webhook support to all three of Coresignal's processing levels: Base, Clean, and Multi-Source. Previously, subscriptions were limited to Base endpoints only. For sales platforms that need both speed and data depth, this means access to a wider set of tracked fields without building separate integration pipelines.

Two webhook improvements

Who will benefit from this feature?

While sales tech platforms need to know when prospects change roles, get promoted, or move companies, field-level change signals could also be valuable to HR tech representatives, VCs, market researchers, and AI developers:

  • Sales tech. For sales tech platforms, field-level change signals translate directly into better-timed outreach. For teams tracking large prospect populations, the reduction in unnecessary webhook notifications also means lower credit consumption and less processing overhead on their end.
  • HR / Recruitment tech. Recruitment platforms care about signals that indicate a candidate might be open to new opportunities, such as job changes, skill updates, and relocation.
  • Private investment (VC/PE). Investors track leadership movements, new company formations, and executive transitions. Detecting when someone becomes a founder of a new (possibly stealth) company, joins a board or leaves a leadership position can be an early investment signal.
  • Market research and competitive intelligence. Companies that monitor competitor organizations benefit from tracking organizational structure changes and leadership turnover. Subscribing by field allows focused tracking of specific data points across large populations without being overwhelmed by updates.
  • AI applications AI platforms that enrich their models or products with people data benefit from cleaner, more structured change signals that are easier to ingest into automated/agentic pipelines.

Get started

You can start configuring our webhook update right away, and you will get:

  • More actionable signals. Immediately see which fields were updated, act faster, and with more confidence.
  • Less noise, lower costs. Filter out irrelevant webhook notifications. Get less data to process, fewer unnecessary API calls, and lower operational costs.
  • Broader and faster coverage. Get access to a wider set of tracked fields with Coresignal’s Base, Clean, and Multi-source data.
  • Easier integration into automated workflows. The combination of precise field-level signals and reduced noise makes it much simpler to integrate our data into your pipeline.
