A Story of Resilience and Hope Through years of dedication and hard work, we have written a remarkable story of resilience and hope in the remote villages of Ariang, South Sudan. Our commitment to education, gender equity, and community development has transformed a village and, in doing so, created ripples of change that continue to spread. Is there a better way of empowering a community other than training them to problem-solve and rise up to the challenges they face in life? Here are some of our achievements yet: Over 3,000 students are receiving quality education in the Villages of Ariang through the Ariang Network of Schools program. More than 60 teachers are receiving professional training so that they are able to provide better education. 462 students have graduated from the Ariang Network of schools since 2011. 20 students, including many girls, are receiving high school scholarships. One of them just finished his high school education and scored 76.30%. He is on his way to university if he gets funds to proceed. The impact of the scholarship goes beyond the 20 scholars that we sponsored directly. The successes of these 20 influenced many families to send their children to secondary schools, raising the transition percentage by 30%. Dozens of women have gained valuable skills through vocational training and have received funding to start their own profitable businesses. This is important because if women start earning money, they will support their children to live a better life.
