Highly Sprung is a physical theatre company where performances and participatory projects are produced with and for new audiences of children & young people. Working together is at the core of everything we do. Our inclusive shared approach to physical theatre creates a physical language that enables children & young people to tell stories and explore global themes, using accessible, gestural, high-energy, and often risk-taking dynamic movement. We share stories through movement that speaks of the world our children & young people will create their futures in. Highly Sprung use physical theatre to invite collaboration, contribution, and discovery. Celebrating difference and the unique physical language that our way of working produces when creating performance work or delivering learning experiences. Our work starts with children & young people, is inspired by them, and created for them…Every year we transform the lives of thousands of children & young people affected as a direct result of economic inequality. Delivering workshops to more than 5000 and reaching an audience of nearly 40,000 with our touring performances. We are the only physical theatre company in England entirely dedicated to making work with and for children & young people aged 3-19 to discover their talents and their voice, laying the foundations and enabling better futures. Established in 2000, Highly Sprung are the country’s leading physical theatre company making work in communities and schools exclusively for and with children and young people experiencing disadvantage. Our unique physical theatre methodology celebrates everyone’s different movement capabilities and is truly inclusive and accessible.
